In Memory of Vanessa Elaine Crapsey

Crapsey, Vanessa Elaine, 15 April 1984 - 23 June 2010, was suddenly taken from her family. Vanessa was born in Toledo, Ohio, but lived the last 20 years of her life primarily in the Fort Lauderdale/Davie/Miami area of Florida. She brought joy to all that loved her. Surviving Vanessa are her three beautiful daughters, Maya (7), Kaya (6) and Tiana (1), Mother and Father (step), Jan and Frank Altieri (Davie, FL), Father and Mother (Step), Joe and Tina Crapsey (Toledo, OH), Sister Melissa Crapsey (FL), Twin Sister Shana Crapsey, Sisters, Hanna, Trisha, and brothers Thomas Burtscher, Tony Todak and Joseph Crapsey IV, (all of Toledo, OH), and Domenick Altieri (Davie, FL) Grandmother: Guineth Griswold, Aunts: Cheri Bernoit, Laura Baer, Kimberly Crapsey, Liz Altieri, Betty Altieri, Uncles: Wallace Crapsey, Robert Crapsey, Nephews: Nathanial, Thomas Jr, and Nieces: Isabella, Madison, and Lily.

Vanessa was taken from us too young, and with so much life yet to live. She was not perfect, but as her twin sister spoke at her service, who is perfect. She was working hard to turn her life around before it was snatched away. Those who knew and loved her knew the true and real Vanessa. Vanessa loved all that she loved fully and with great passion. Her smile could lighten a dark room. Vanessa, our dear angel, please know that we all love you and miss you. We suffer great pain but also relish in the knowledge that you are now among your two grandpas who will take good care of you up there until we all join you. Your mother is loving your daughters as we know that you would have wanted to love them. We'll not let them forget you and we'll keep your spirit with us forever.

Update 09.19.2011: For the grammatically challenged, Vanessa's birth parents are Joseph Crapsey III - Father and Janet Wisniewski Altieri - Mother. Frank Altieri is Vanessa's step-dad and Tina Burtscher Crapsey is Vanessa's step-mom.

Kimberly's News - July 2008

I am so excited to report that upon my move back to OH, I have decided to purchase a home rather than rent. I am so excited and thrilled to get a beautiful new home (to me) that is only 6 blocks from my best friend and family. The house is a 1941 cape cod in impeccable condition. The kitchen needs updated, but is like a blank slate for me. I have gorgeous solid maple cabinets! The former owners had no children, left the hours to an elderly heir. I got a reasonable price on it. They played a little bit hard because they dropped a large amount into it for some updated, like Central air, prior to selling. I have a brand new HVAC/90% efficiency. I already have so many plans. I close on the 14th and will be returning from GA to OH with all of my stuff on the 19th. Please wish me well!

About Pictures

I have password protected pictures of children for safety concerns. It is mentioned several times that the username is our last name and password the name of the street that Grandma and Grandpa (Joe and Mildred) lived on, combined with the year that Grandpa died. I guess that isn't telling enough for some folks. But, that is what it is. If you can't figure it out, call and ask someone who does.

This site, as mentioned before, is primarily about my section of the greater Crapsey clan. Since I work for a living, I don't have the time or resources to do a full family tree out here. Perhaps some time will come in the future, but I have a pretty full plate. For now, this is about my immediately family.
